Our fourth series in our Twelve by Twelve Project is the topic of “Favorite Color”.
I have an obvious color that is my favorite but I didn’t want this topic to be as obvious as that. My husband and I recently had professional photos taken during our trip to Lisbon, Portugal last November.
Before our trip I did a lot of research and spoke to many different photographers. We decided to go with a duo couple that owns Love Is My Favorite Color Photography. I cannot tell a lie, I did fall in love with their name before I really got to see their work or know them as a couple.
I first met Rui & Cristiana over Skype. They were the sweetest, most welcoming couple and I knew I made the right choice with them.
The day we met in Lisbon, they came to pick my husband and I up at our hotel. We quickly made pleasantries and started on our way to our first location. I gave up complete creative control to them. As a photographer, I don’t have many chances to allow someone else’s vision to take control so I was extremely happy to do this and just enjoy the day.
The entire day was magical. Rui & Cristiana took us all over Lisbon. Along the way, they gave us little historical facts and pointed out certain architecture that was important to Lisbon. They purchased Ginjinha- a Portuguese cherry liqueur for us to enjoy as we walked along the cobblestone pathways. Later, as we entered the city centre of Lisbon, we stopped at a street vendor to enjoy Roasted Walnuts. To end the evening, we sat and ate at the popular Santini Ice Cream Shop.
It was an amazing experience in Lisbon that was made even more amazing by this dynamic duo- Love Is My Favorite Color. I hope you’ve enjoyed some of my favorite images from our session. If you’re ever in Portugal, be sure to look them up and update your family photos! We will have a lifetime of memories with these photos!

By the way, if we were speaking of an actual color, my favorite color is Blue, just in case you were wondering. 🙂
