  • Matt & Kara Engagement {Tampa Bay Wedding Photographer}

    Matt & Kara are an amazing couple I met at University of Tampa. They are so wonderful!! I had an amazing time out with them on such a perfect day. I asked them a few questions about themselves and their plans for their wedding so that you could get to know them like I did.

    How did you two meet?

    We met at The Rack at a mutual friend’s birthday party.  It was actually kind of funny because we were both working at the same place at the time, but in different departments, so we had never crossed each other’s paths.  Once we realized we worked near each other we started taking our breaks together.

    What do you two love to do together the most?

     We love riding our bikes together when we have the chance.  It is so convenient living in South Tampa because we are biking distance from a variety of restaurants.  We even made a list of restaurants we want to try, but there are so many to choose from!

    How did he propose? (If you would like to mention about him proposing atop the tallest building in the world, that is up to you)

    Matt’s family lives outside of Dubai in the U.A.E.  While we were visiting last Christmas, Matt tried proposing on top of the Burj Khalifia, the world’s tallest building.  I am very shy, so when I noticed what he was doing I whispered; “you better not do that up here!”  Needless to say he changed up the plan and proposed in the hotel room later that evening.  It makes for a funny story.

    When and Where will your wedding be?

    We are getting married June 29th at Old Town Manor in Key West.  It is a bed and breakfast located one block from Duval Street.  We are looking forward to having a relaxing yet fun weekend celebrating with our close friends and family.

    What made you decide to choose a destination wedding?

    After Matt proposed, I initially started planning for a big wedding.  We both realized during the process that the traditional wedding was not for us.  Once we started exploring other options, we both fell in love with the idea of a carefree destination wedding.  We decided on Key West because we both enjoy the keys and would love to begin our life together there.

    Where will you go on your Honeymoon?

    We are spending our honeymoon in Chile.  Matt is dying to check out the world’s largest pool, and I am hoping to visit some of the wineries.  I minored in Spanish in college and I think Matt also wants to laugh at me while I attempt to speak with the locals!

    Congratulations you two!!! I had a great time with you guys!

  • {Bridal Show Advice for Photographers} Tampa Wedding Photographer

    I’ve recently had some real insight into the other side of weddings. I’ve been to some Bridal shows recently, but not as a photographer. The most recent two times I had the pleasure of attending as a Bride! I wanted the chance to win some great prizes and to meet some new vendors that maybe I haven’t had the joy to work with yet.

    I had some fun at the photo booths and even won a free engagement session. How exciting!!

    I’ve also had the not so great pleasure of being bombarded by a lot of emails from vendors that I didn’t give my contact information to. I understand some Bridal shows give out Brides information to all vendors who participate in the show. BUT if I did not stop at your booth- one of two these may be the case:

    1. I already have a vendor for my wedding in your area of expertise.

    2. I’m simply not interested in your work.

    So, say you send me an email and I politely say I’m not interested. Please, please, please do not continue sending me emails. And most importantly do not send an 11 part text message to me. If what you need to say to me is that long, please email me or call me IF I’ve shown interest in your company! Be kind enough and pay attention to the fact that I’ve declined your business. To not pay attention to that would prove to me that you aren’t interested in my needs as a client and would deter me from using you in the future.

    I think its something beneficial for all of us as business owners to put ourselves in the shoes of our clients. Thats the only true way we will ever be able to succeed.

  • First NFL Experience {Bucs Vs. Colts}

    I finally went to my first NFL game. (Even though I live in Tampa and have the Raymond James Stadium) Chris and I went to the Bucs vs Colts game. I’m a HUGE NHL fan but I will say that the NFL game I went to, is NOT as exciting as NHL games. I was surprised how much they stand around. I had no idea they wait around for commercials like that. But I guess it makes sense. So in the NHL you get to see atleast one fight a game usually. I didn’t think I’d see anything in the NFL game, well I didnt. BUT I did see one of the Colts players get hurt and not that it was exciting, but it was very, very gross. Something viewers on TV did not get to see. EWW

    I wanted to share my photos from the game.

    How cool is this below?! Wish we were sitting on the other side….

  • {Lee + Sabrina 2 Year Anniversary}

    Congratulations to Lee & Sabrina on their 2 year anniversary today!!

  • Jonathan + Rayna {Virginia Beach Private Residence} Virginia Wedding Photographer

    I was so excited when Rayna contacted me for her wedding! Rayna and I had grown up around each other although not really running into each other very often. I was so happy to be able to share in her special day. We have grown to be great friends through her wedding process and wedding day.

    Jonathan and Rayna were married at a private ceremony on Virginia Beach.

    The wedding day started with private time with her two best girls, Emily and Mandy helping her get ready for her big day. Rayna did her own hair since she’s an Aveda stylist. Look how beautiful she looked!! The flowers were in shades of white and green. Shades of grey were the wedding color.

    The couple’s reception was held at a private beach house in Virginia Beach decorated with handmade decor (by Rayna and her bridesmaids) and lanterns.  Paper Flowers hung from the ceiling. The DJ was Josh, a close family friend and the wedding cupcakes were from Sams Club.  The cupcakes were DELICIOUS!!! The food included pulled pork sandwiches, popeyes chicken, green beans, macaroni and cheese, etc..

    Thanks so much to Jonathan and Rayna for having me join you to capture the memories of such a special day!  I wish you a lifetime of happiness!
